On Saturday 2nd November, the Lionheart Academies Trust welcomed over 1600 people to De Montfort University’s Venue for Beauchamp City Sixth Form’s first Year 12 Open Day.
The provider, due to open in Leicester City Centre in September 2020, offers a traditional academic curriculum for those focused on access to top end Universities and Apprenticeship providers.
At the Open Day prospective students and guests were met by highly skilled teaching staff in all subject areas. Trust Directors of Maths, Science, English and Computer Science were on hand to offer advice and guidance on the A-Level curriculum, and Principal, James McKenna, presented on the ethos and values of the Sixth Form and the wider Trust as a whole.
Student Ambassadors provided guidance for our guests, answering queries about the curricular offer, extra-curricular opportunities and the day-to-day experience of a Sixth Form student.
Prospective students were also able to explore a Careers and Higher Education Fair, with guests including Rolls Royce, IBM, HSBC, UoL, and Warwick.
Beauchamp College Alumni Drew Purves, a Lead AI Designer at DeepMind, spoke on careers in Computer Science, and De Montfort University made sure students were informed with a talk on ‘making the right choice’.
The Open Day was a huge success for the Lionheart Academies Trust and Beauchamp City Sixth Form. To find out more, visit www.beauchampcity.org.uk.
