From Painting to PPE; Lionheart Trust Design Staff create 2700 visors for NHS staff
April 23, 2020
Staff at the Lionheart Academies Trust, a family of 11 schools across Leicestershire, have been working around-the-clock to create an astounding 2200 protective visors, intended to be donated to local NHS hospitals and care homes during the COVID-19 outbreak.
Design Technician Nicole Foxall, of Anstey’s Martin High School, began the initiative two weeks ago when most students were on their Easter Break, utilising and taking home the Trust’s high-tech laser cutters which help to rapidly cut plastics and wood, achieving the creation of over 50 visors in just one hour. Staff at Beauchamp College in Oadby and The Cedars Academy in Birstall then followed suit, forming somewhat of a "production line" to fulfil high orders.
Their recent efforts have noticed by the Leicester Mercury, who featured their amazing efforts in an article. Click on the link to find out more.
