Our Vision
We believe that education has the power to create new and exciting life chances for young people and we are passionate about seeing them thrive academically, socially and emotionally. And so our mission is clear: To empower every person from every background to unlock their future and thrive in a competitive world.
Lionheart schools play a hugely important part in preparing learners to be confident, resilient, mature, aspirational and active young people in order for them to unlock their desired future and be able to thrive. It is essential that we shape learners with these key qualities and, as a Trust, we seek to break down barriers to provide opportunities for every pupil to progress, even if delivery of education might need to be different for some.
We offer outstanding provision for our 4-19 year olds, through delivery of our curriculum that has been carefully researched, developed and planned with the underpinning principle of social justice. At both primary and secondary level, subject experts have adopted an evidence-led approach to build a knowledge-rich, broad, and representative curriculum that prioritises literacy and numeracy and is ambitious for all. Our experienced teachers understand the power of an ambitious curriculum, and that this entitlement should benefit all children, particularly those from disadvantaged backgrounds.
Our staff are united in our aim to continually drive-up standards and provide exciting opportunities for young people, both academically and holistically.
In return, our mission is the same for staff; providing opportunities for every employee to learn, grow, experience, achieve and unlock their future so they can thrive in the workplace. We invest in our teachers, leaders and associate staff through empowerment, encouraging the sharing of best practice across the Trust, career planning and the extensive offering of CPD opportunities.
Opportunities for sharing best practice and participating in collaborative activity is fundamental to the success of our Trust. We know that by working together across the Trust - as whole schools, subject specialists, departments and operational teams - our power together is greater than working alone. But this support doesn’t stop within our Trust; regularly supporting other schools outside of Lionheart to improve the educational provision of pupils across the region. We are firm believers that we will always do what is right and never be led just by what is easy. Quite simply, we embrace challenges if outcomes will help us in our mission.
Whether you’re a parent, a student, a prospective employee or governor, or a community partner, we hope that you will join us on our journey to open doors for the young people of the East Midlands through provision of educational excellence.
