Our commitment to academic excellence is clear in the outstanding achievements of our students across all key stages.
We take pride in fostering an environment that supports academic growth and nurtures the holistic development of our learners.
Research-informed curriculum
We invest in subject experts to lead curriculum development for all schools and ensure that the best possible learning journey has been devised. We work in a research-informed way to create coherent, ambitious and robust curricula where programmes of learning ensure a knowledge rich curriculum that prioritises developing a strong foundation of essential skills in literacy and numeracy whilst providing our learners with a broad and diverse range of learning experiences.
Pupil values
We dedicate ourselves to providing young people with the strongest foundation for success and use common values to support work towards excellent academic achievement. Guided by Professor Guy Claxton’s principles of building learning power - ‘The Rs’ - we have developed an understandable common language used in all classrooms and with all children. We teach our young people to be:
Reciprocal - Resilient – Resourceful – Reflective
Global Issues lessons
Our Global Issues curriculum, developed by Lionheart with lessons delivered across all of our schools, explores beyond statutory guidance of the Personal Development Curriculum. It focuses on highly topical issues to engage our young people in the challenges of the world beyond their doorstep or school gates. With three to four topics across each academic year – such as war & conflict, climate change and misinformation - topics comprise elements of teaching information, class discussion and subsequent social action so our young people can consider how they can help shape the world they live in and constructively use 'their voice'.
