Students celebrate stunning GCSE results!
Across our Trust this summer, we were thrilled to highlight the achievements of many of our students, who, once again, achieved an impressive collection of GCSE results. In our schools up and down Leicester and Leicestershire, students, as well as staff, rose to the challenge admirably, consistently working hard throughout the academic year and receiving a thoroughly merited set of results.
Notably, at Judgemeadow Community College in Evington who enjoyed a stunning collection of science results; 69% of students achieved a grade range of 9-7 in Chemistry, 61% in Biology and 62% in Physics.
At Sir Jonathan North Girls’ College in Knighton, 79% of students attained grade 4 and above in all subjects, whilst 43% achieved at least one grade 8 or grade 9.
On average, a remarkable 66% of students from our eight secondary schools achieved at least a grade 4 in both English Language and Maths; many of these students acquired high grade 8s and grade 9s too.
Our collective average of 22% of students acquiring grades 9-7 in English Language, in a year where tougher marking saw grades lower across the country, was also higher that the academy average in England.
There were a plethora of outstanding individual stories too.
Andi, at Beauchamp College, received 10 grade 9s and one grade 7; he is staying on at Beauchamp’s Sixth Form to study Biology, Chemistry, Maths and Computer Science.
At The Cedars Academy, Jess obtained four grade 9s, three grade 8s, two grade 7s and one Level Two Distinction. She is going on to study Biology, Physics and Criminology at Loughborough College.
Meanwhile, Azdin at Judgemeadow Community College and Erin at Sir Jonathan North Girls’ College collected a clean sweep of grade 9s.
Many of our students are continuing their Lionheart educational journey at our outstanding array of Sixth Form provision. Whilst others can look forward to undertaking a wide variety of exciting apprenticeships.
Congratulations to the class of 2023; we wish them the very best of luck for the future!
